& THE SURROUNDING AREAS.
Jackson Drinks and live music at the Wort Hotel
50 Glenwood Street, Jackson, WY 83001
A historic Hole hotel built in 1941 located in Downtown Jackson.
This spot is very popular with locals and visitors alike. A great time offering dancing and live local music.

Explore the base of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Good dining, shops, mountain views, hikes, frisbee golf, and more. Stop for a drink at the famous Mangy Moose bar! Also, take a tram to the top of Rendezvous Mountain for great aerial views of the JH Valley (bring a jacket, it gets windy. There is also a well-known waffle hut at the top if you get hungry). Tram rides are about ~$40 per person and take ~9 minutes to get to the top. Save money by purchasing tickets in advance online.

Grand Teton National Park is just to the north of Teton Village on the Moose Wilson road. There is an entrance fee to get in to the park. Once there you can drive to various points to see the sites or if you want to hike here is a link to day-hikes in Grand Teton Park.

The park visitor center in Moose is very nice and it is a good starting off point for exploring the park.

TETON VILLAGE RESORT ACTIVITIES

Ride the aerial tram to the top of the mountain for unparalleled views and great hiking. Tandem paragliding flights launch from the summit! This is supposedly the largest vertical drop in the U.S. Call JH Paragliding for reservations at 307.739.2626. Jump on the bungee trampoline; play the 18-hole disc golf course...visit the activity desk located in the clock tower building.

SNAKE RIVER WHITEWATER RAFTING & FLOAT TRIPS

Barker-Ewing 800.448.4202 This is a great family activity. Choose a whitewater adventure or scenic float.

Solitude Float Trips, 307.733.2871, grand-teton-scenic-floats.com **Go at 5:30 p.m. for best animal viewing, floats are 10 miles through Grand Teton National Park.

JACKSON TOWN SQUARE SHOOTOUT

A kitschy Western tradition since 1957, the shootout takes place every summer evening at 6:00 p.m. - except Sundays... there’s no shootin’ on Sundays, on the town square.

HIKING

Phelps Lake and Death Canyon at the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve
Easy moderate hiking to Phelps Lake overlook or a longer hike into Death Canyon. Starting from the Laurance Rockefeller Preserve visitor center and parking area south from the Moose Visitor’s Center.

Granite Canyon
Moderate to difficult depending on length of hike. This goes to the top of the tram (15 miles), but you can go up as little or much as you want.

Surprise & Amphitheater Lakes
Difficult, but “A Teton Classic.” This ten-mile round trip is a Teton classic, but because it climbs about 3,000 vertical feet over five miles it is considered difficult. An early start is recommended.

Bradley & Taggart Lakes
Quiet 2.5 Mile hike in GTNP. Another classic Teton hike, this one is generally a bit less busy than Hidden Falls. Leaving the parking lot 2.5 miles north of the Moose Visitor Center the trail soon divides, one to the south and one to the north, and these paths reunite at Taggart Lake.

Leigh, Bearpaw & Trapper Lakes
Easy hike with stunning views of the Tetons. This straightforward, flat hike offers views of the sheer north faces of the main Teton peaks. Leave your car at the String Lake parking lot and head north along a well-marked path.

Jenny Lake and Hidden Falls
Easy hike with a boat ride across the lake. This is a great spot for children and families as the boat ride is fun in and of itself and you can walk up to the waterfalls at Hidden Falls or not, and it is still pretty. Boats leave from Jenny Lake to Hidden Falls about every 20 minutes.

BIKING

For biking enthusiasts, the bike trails are right by Teton Village. Bike rentals in the village are available at many stores including JH Sports and Teton Village Sports. Bike trails go from the Village all the way to Wilson and on over to Jackson for the truly ambitious. The bike path in Grand Teton National Park is very nice, except for the stretch on the Moose-Wilson Road where you are biking with the cars.

If you want to bike in the park it is best to rent your bike up in Moose. Bike rentals are available at Dornan’sand from there you can bike all the way up to Jenny Lake.

Pathways maps are available at local hotels and sporting goods stores, or online.
